OCR: their second album "Closer." Like "Unknown Pleasures," "Closer" was welcomed by rave reviews worldwide. "Love Will Tear Us Apart" soon became Joy Division's most widely known song. Factory also released a flexi-disc containing "Komakino" and two nstrumental songs. "Closer's" lyrics cover topics ranging from societal injustice and oppression to intimate personal struggles and concerns. As a result, many people have equated the album's lyrics to a form of suicide note. This assumption has shrouded Joy Division's music to this day, as many people attribute the band's creative genius to Curtis alone instead of the entire band. This is a basic misunderstanding which explains why some followers of Joy Division did not become New Order fans.
